Velvet Season & The Hearts Of GoldはGerry RooneyとJoel Martinによる新たなプロジェクト。二人は現在におけるディスコミュージックのプロデューサーとして、黒子的な存在ながら、あらゆるDJやレコード屋が支持してきた影の帝王的存在。Gerry Rooneyは伝説的リエディットプロジェクト／レーベルとして知られるBlack CockプロジェクトにおけるDJ Harveyのパートナー。Rooneyはレコード・ディーラーとしてのコネクションを使い、ディスコの膨大なレア盤を発掘していたのだが、後にその音源をHarveyと一緒にエディットすることになり、エディットという行為を現在の世代に広めた張本人。Joel Martinも同様に、ありふれたレコードを普遍的なものへと変化させることの出来るエディットマスター。またQuiet Villageの1人として、バレアリック系ミュージックにおける最良トラックのいくつかを近年リリースしている。そんな音楽を知り尽くした2人が結成したVelvet Seasonは、現在のクラブ･ミュージックに一石を投じるオリジナルな音を掘り下げており、強烈な楽曲を引っさげて、日本に初来日する。
