好事家界隈で凄まじい値がつく真鍋ちえみによる82年発表のフルレングスLPアルバム「不思議・少女」に収録された異端テクノ歌謡楽曲。

81年に結成されたアイドルグループ・パンジーに所属していた真鍋ちえみ、ソロ活動になってのファーストリリースはなんと細野晴臣によるプロデュースのシングル「ねらわれた少女」だったわけですが、これはこれでタイトル通りのサスペンス感みなぎる振り切った作品で（LP1曲目に収録）、当時YMO以降に隆盛するテクノポップ出自のプロデューサーがアイドルをプロデュースするといった流れ、所謂テクノ歌謡ブーム黎明期の中でも異端扱い、なかなか人心ない評価を受けることになったのです。
しかしそれゆえの反骨衝動に駆られたのかどうか定かではありませんが、細野晴臣、清水信之、松武秀樹といったいちアイドル作品にしては信じられないくらい豪華な布陣でさらなる製作に臨んだ結果生まれたのがアルバム「不思議・少女」。そしてその中でも、ずば抜けてストレンジな楽曲として収録されていたのがこの「うんととおく」です。

大貫妙子初期諸作やYMOのアルバム「テクノデリック」よろしくサンプラー音源LMD-649から発する無機質で金属的なメトロノームリズムにめくるめくシンセサイザーサウンドをこれでもかとレイヤーし、ディレイ/リヴァーヴが深々とかかる真鍋の無邪気でナイーブな歌声によってうんと遠くに飛ばされる4次元コズミックエレクトロは、YMO人脈をフル活用し招聘されたプロデューサー達の「自分のじゃないしB級アイドル作品だからやったれ」的な気概をぎっちりと詰め込んだ、テクノ歌謡ブームという時代が生んだ摩訶不思議ミュータント作品です。

The track is a bit like Taeko Onuki’s early works and YMO’s “Technodelic” album, with the inorganic and metallic metronome rhythm emitted from the sampler LMD-649, and Manabe’s innocent and naïve voice with a dazzling synthesizer sound layered on top of it, and the delay/reverb deep in the background.The 4D Cosmic Electro is a mysterious mutant work born in the techno music boom era, which fully utilizes the YMO connections and the spirit of the invited producers, who are not their own, and who seem to think “it’s a B-class idol work, so go ahead and do it”.
